Wash latex clothing properly!

It is best to wash the latex catsuit or leggings in the hand basin or bathtub. For proper care, wash briefly in lukewarm water using a special latex detergent (no strong detergent, dishwashing liquid or other household cleaners!). Fill a bucket with lukewarm water and add a teaspoon of silicone oil. Whisk the mixture by hand. Wash the clothes piece by piece in the mixture for a few seconds. Hang up to drain and your latex clothing will not stick together. This method allows you to achieve an even gloss on the latex surface.

Washing latex clothing in the washing machine

Please only wash latex garments in the washing machine with care and the correct settings.

Fill the washing machine carefully. Latex clothing is heavy and the washing machine is quickly overfilled. Check the correct settings. A wool programme is usually the right choice. Add a latex detergent and our Amor All deep conditioner to the softener tank. The Amor All prevents the latex clothing from sticking together in the washing machine. You can then wash normal clothes again. If you add silicone oil to the fabric softener tank, you should run the washing machine empty once with detergent at 60 degrees. This will allow you to remove any silicone oil residue for subsequent washes.

Latex clothing in the tumble dryer. Is that possible?

Latex clothing in the tumble dryer is really only intended for professional use, as you could contaminate the dryer with powder or silicone oil for subsequent clothing. And here too, anything that is not suitable for the washing machine should not go in the tumble dryer. The most important rule for anyone who wants to try it out is. Yes, not too hot. Please only dry with cold air or at an extremely low temperature.

We do not accept any liability for seams that open due to improper washing or drying. Put a towel in the dryer for the first few minutes to soak up excess water. Please check beforehand whether the towel dulls the latex when rubbed.

Washing latex clothing for repair

If you need to have your latex clothing repaired and would like us to do this professionally, please send it to us FREE of silicone oil and only powdered. Oily garments have no place in our workshops. Wash your latex clothing as often as necessary until it is free of silicone oil residues. To prevent sticking, be sure to powder them.

Washing and care of chlorinated latex clothing

Chlorinated Latexarticles are easier to care for. Chlorinated clothing is washed in the same way as untreated latex clothing. After washing, your clothing will no longer stick together. It dries faster and is easier to handle. After drying, a dressing aid is not absolutely necessary. However, the surface must be treated again with a glossing agent such as Perfect Shine from begloss. Care products for a high-gloss surface do not last as long on chlorinated latex clothing as on latex clothing without chlorination. The biggest disadvantage of chlorinated latex is that it is almost impossible to repair if something should break.

How do I store my latex clothing correctly?

Just like leather, latex clothing needs nutrients Washed and dry latex clothing should be treated with suitable silicone oil to keep it supple and shiny. Silicone oil prevents latex clothing from sticking together during storage and makes it easier to put on. Silicone oil also gives latex clothing the desired glossy effect and is dermatologically tested and very well tolerated by the skin. Latex care is also essential for chlorinated latex clothing. Chlorinated clothing can also be stored without silicone oil. However, chlorinated latex should also be treated with a little silicone oil from time to time. This can penetrate deep into the material and ensures that your latex clothing remains supple.

Latex clothing should be stored in a cool, dark place

Latex clothing and other latex items should be stored in a dark place. Never expose latex clothing to sunlight for longer than necessary. The UV rays contained in sunlight damage the material in the long term and make it dull and grey. Dark storage is therefore very important. What do I have to do to make my latex clothing shine?

Specially developed sprays and polishes are used to give latex a high gloss. The viscosity of these sprays and polishes is specially formulated for a high gloss and they penetrate deep into the latex. We have had the best experiences with beGloss Perfect Shine in combination with the special microfibre cloth from beGloss to give latex laundry a high gloss and a beautiful surface. This care cloth differs from conventional microfibre cloths.

How do I put on my latex clothing correctly?

Here are a few tips on how you should handle your latex clothing when putting it on. Beginners in particular often find it a little difficult to put on skin-tight latex clothing such as latex catsuits or tight latex leggings. Long fingernails can cause considerable damage when dressing. Therefore, please ensure that the nails are not used when dressing (hold them flat in your hand) and make sure that the nails do not dig into the material. To be on the safe side, use a little more dressing aid when putting on your latex catsuit. With enough silicone oil between your garment and your skin, you can easily adjust your catsuit afterwards. Always apply light pressure with a flat hand.

Silicone oil as a dressing aid for latex clothing

The easiest way to get into skin-tight latex clothing is to use a dressing aid. It is best to use silicone oil specially developed for this purpose. The use of silicone oil has a pleasant side effect. It cares for the skin and makes it pleasantly supple. This special silicone oil is a product that is used in the cosmetics industry. Absolutely odourless, tasteless and dermatologically tested, it has excellent caring properties and is ideal as a lubricant and massage oil and, of course, for slippery play with latex.

Applying silicone oil - either directly on the skin or on clothing

Apply the silicone oil directly to the skin like a body lotion. Then put on your latex catsuit or leggings. Or briefly turn your garment inside out and apply the dressing aid to the inside of your latex clothing. You can also use a little more on known tight areas such as arms or legs to improve the gliding effect.

Why you should definitely use silicone oil for transparent latex clothing.

Silicone oil should be used primarily for transparent latex clothing. The transparency really comes into its own when you treat transparent latex clothing with silicone oil. We only use silicone oil for our photo shoots. This enables us to achieve the best results for the look of our photographed latex clothing.

Dressing latex clothing with powder

Powder or talcum powder can also be used as an alternative to silicone oil for dressing. Some people do not like or need a high gloss and enjoy the pleasantly dry, slippery feel of latex that has been treated with powder. Once the silicone oil has been removed and the latex clothing has been powdered, it can then be easily put on with talcum powder. With this method, it is very important to slip into the latex clothing quickly and smoothly. Your skin must also be completely dry! If you start sweating too much when putting on the latex clothing, it will be difficult and without silicone it will be almost impossible.

Putting on chlorinated latex clothing

Chlorination makes the surface of latex clothing smooth and silky. Latex then glides on the skin like silk and can be put on without the use of aids such as silicone oil or talcum powder. Chlorinated latex clothing is therefore an interesting alternative, especially for large items of clothing that are difficult to put on, such as a latex catsuit.

Latex clothing can discolour! What do I have to watch out for?

Be careful with copper and all non-ferrous metals! Your latex clothing will discolour quickly. Be careful with all metal parts, accessories, costume jewellery, jeans buttons, money, belt buckles, jewellery and shoes! These discolourations can no longer be removed. With transparent or light-coloured clothing (white, pink, manequinn), some other items of clothing may release colour pigments which may also cause unsightly stains on your latex clothing. Furthermore, you should handle body care products and perfume with care and not bring them into direct contact with your clothing. In any case, theatre make-up is also harmful. This contains extremely high levels of fatty substances and destroys and discolours the latex.

Can I wear latex under normal clothing?

Wearing latex under normal clothing is a very exciting experience. However, the material becomes dull in areas that are exposed to rubbing stress in contact with the textile fabric (knee area or elbows) and can no longer be made to shine in the long term. Even the best care with silicone won't help. As a result of this wear and tear, the material becomes more susceptible to stretching after frequent wear in the worn areas.

How do plastics with plasticisers and latex behave?

Some plastics contain plasticisers which can destroy the latex. Toys made of silicone or other soft materials (dildos and the like) should not come into contact with the material for too long. Do not leave such items on clothing overnight. The material will start to ripple at this point and become brittle after a while. Care should also be taken with some plastic clothes hangers.

How long will my clothes last with the right latex care?

With the right storage and good latex care, you can enjoy your clothing for many years. If you follow the simple rules, such as not too much sunlight, dark storage, no grease or oil and always wash after wearing, your latex clothing can last for more than ten years. The lifespan depends on the care you give your latex clothing. In addition to the right latex care, how often the clothing is worn and how much it is used also has an influence on its lifespan.
